Colgate Games & Grade 12/13 Interprovincial Championships
The Colgate Games and Grade 12/13 Interprovincial make up the pinnacle events for youth in our sport. Both events foster competition in fun and social environment, with participation and teamwork at the core.
The Colgate Games is an annual event for athletes aged 7-14 years, split into one North Island and one South Island Games. Both events are an opportunity for hundreds of young athletes from around the country to come together for three days of athletics, making new friends, meeting other kids, and enjoying competing against one another.
The Grade 12/13 Interprovincial Championships is a team-based event held every year across both the Saturday and Sunday of the Easter weekend. It’s a fantastic event for those athletes selected, as they compete in a group environment against the top 12-13 year olds in the country. Each province in New Zealand selects a team to represent them in the competition, with each team consisting of a maximum of 44 athletes – 11 male and 11 female athletes from each grade.
